Swimming is a great sport and a healthy activity. There are many skills to be developed to master all strokes correctly and a tremendous effort is required to get it right. Besides being a non impact sport, it is a great way to keep fit, tone up those developing muscles and lose body weight. Squad swimming is both beneficial for your health and social development. Squad swimmers from the age of five years through to young adults are able to take advantage of our great programme. At training you will begin to learn about swimming etiquette and how much fun the sport can be. At PSC we encourage healthy competition through race nights, club champs and regular swim meets at various levels.
Our club has been operating in the Northern suburbs for the past eighteen years with many impressive results over those years. We always take pride in our club ranking and fellow club members and parents are the biggest supporters.
Taking pride in ONES TEAM is a goal that PSC wishes to cherish and foster. Working together to achieve each individual's goals is the aim of our programme. Some of our swimmers will achieve gold medals, others might achieve personal bests only, but each swimmer has won. Our team is aged from five to eighteen years of age and all genuinely care for each other like an extended family which is truly a great achievement on its own.
We are a well established competitive swimming club and operate from Porirua Trust Aquatic Centre. At swim meets we are regulated by Swimming Wellington and Swimming New Zealand regulations but we have also developed our Porirua Swim Club constitution. On request we can make the constitution available to you and clarify where needed. In the Wellington region we take part in the Gold Coast Zone swim meets, which is separate from the Hutt Zone meets.
We look forward to sharing your development and achievements with you on your swimming pathway.
