The date for the 6th NZCT AIMS GAMES is Sunday 6 September to Friday 11 September 2009 (Week 8 Term 3).

The National Sporting Championship event is organised by Sport Bay of Plenty, Western BOP Intermediate Schools and Tauranga City Council.

The sporting championships gives Year 7 and 8 students an opportunity to compete as an individual or in a team against the best of their age in New Zealand in thirteen different sports. Each of the thirteen sports offered in 2009 are hosted in superb facilities where the best in the country for their age had the opportunity to perform at their best. The aim of the event is to provide opportunities for the student in the middle years to be active, celebrate fair play and enjoy success and it is through events such as the NZCT AIMS GAMES that these students will be provided with challenges and the opportunity to perform to a high standard.
