Training for each of the squads is based on a weekly schedule

Coach in action

The PSC head coach is Nevill Sutton.

Nevill has a Level 2 Coaching Certificate and a Certificate in Swim Teaching from Swimming New Zealand.

In the past he has been awarded a SCATNZ (Swimming Coaches and Teachers of New Zealand) award for services to the Learn to swim industry and to competitive swimming.

He has also taken swimming teams to the United States, Japan and Europe. In 2006 he took our PSC squads to Nudgee, Australia for a successful 8-day swimming camp. The camp ended with the team participating in the 2006 Brisbane Spring Sprint meet.

Swimmers have won numerous medals in Age Groups and national competition both in New Zealand and Australia.

Being a trained school teacher brings extensive knowledge and an experience level that is used in our programme.

With 41 years of involvement in the sport of swimming through competing, coaching, and administration to the governance level of the Swimming New Zealand Board there is a wealth of knowledge available to be used to benefit our swimmers.

To keep abreast of new ideas, techniques and developments Nevill travels each year to the ASCTA Annual Conference on the Gold Coast in Australia. This has proved to be invaluable, allowing for great networking and for swimmers to gain from his experience.
